It had been an extremely long night at Rosewood Hospital with several accident victims and a few attack victims. Karma was a smart girl who was completely aware of the different kinds of creatures that live in this town. She used her ability to help three of the patients that she seen tonight. A young boy who was in a car accident and two teenagers who had been attacked by 'animals'. Using her gift always took a lot of energy out of the doctor, she felt dead on her feet but at least her shift was nearly over. Fifteen minutes and she could go home to crash for about twelve hours. Her brunette locks were pulled up into a high ponytail as she took the moments of peace to lay down in the on call room.
She stayed to herself a lot at work and at home because she was gifted. It was something she worked hard to keep hidden from everyone. Her dark eyes shut for a moment only to have her pager go off, she groans and reaches for the thing then rolls off the bed heading for the front desk. “Dr. Henson, you can ignore that page and go home.” The nurse offers a kind smile and she seen Dr. Jackson taking lead, she nods her head and heads to the locker room to change out of her scrubs and into her street clothes. T-shirt and skinny jeans with tennis shoes. Karma pushes her phone in her pocket and heads out the door for her car. “Someone please help.” A deep male voice called out forcing Karma to spin around, her deep chocolate hues caught sight of a male and female running towards the hospital.
The man was carrying a child who looked unresponsive. Exhaustion forgotten, Karma runs across the parking lot to the couple. “Janice, get a stretcher and fast.” She yelled at the nurse who was stepping out for a smoke no doubt, the female dropped everything and ran back inside. “I'm Dr. Henson and I'm here to help your son. Can you tell me what happened?” The boy was placed on the stretcher and wheeled inside while the man explained to her that he was fine and playing then passed out and stopped breathing. Karma went straight to work on saving the boys life and spent another five hours at the hospital refusing to leave until the boy was stable. Karma walks outside and took a seat on a bench, she leans her head back inhaling the fresh air.
